Rick Perry's people say the former governor's presidential hopes are still high, despite the fact that his Iowa campaign manager just quit to go help Donald Trump.

Rick Perry Capaign Manager Quits to Work For Donald Trump
Rick Perry will forge ahead with his 2016 White House hopes, even though his Iowa campaign manager defected to the Trump camp.

Rick Perry announced today that his campaign manager, Sam Clovis, is ditching his campaign and jumping on the Trump wagon. Clovis will join the Trump campaign as National Chairman and Policy Adviser, the Tea Party website confirmed.

“I had an opportunity to get to know Mr. Trump over the past several months…I have some close friends working on the campaign. It’s a great opportunity for me to effect [sic] change in Washington, and I think Mr. Trump is exactly the person to do that,” Mr. Sam Clovis said.

The move comes just days after Perry campaign’s announced it would be cutting down on staff. The campaign seems to be spiraling downwards despite a statement earlier today on CNN saying it plans to revamp the campaign.

GOP strategist are pointing out that Trump has taken a lot the extreme right support from candidates who would have otherwise received it.

For many, Rick Perry’s campaign move is a sign that the campaign is barely hanging on. It is a 17 person race at this point so campaign donors are stretched out among thee different candidates.
